The son pursues the future,

The elder clings on to past.

 

The son toils for love,

The elder speaks of mammon.

 

The son speaks of trials,

The elders exalt themselves.

 

The elder encourages the friend,

The son is discouraged by the friend.

 

The friend encourages a friend,

The son is ridiculed by the friend.

 

The son smiles with open arms to those with trials,

The elder and friend judges the spirit of the son,

The elder and friend loathes the son.

 

In the end the son desires peace, kindness, and love,

but the son cannot find it here,

nor will He find it at home.

 

Cold and empty are the eyes on the son,

 

In the end people speak of life and success,

with the tongue of mammon,

and judge the spirit of the son,

with the eyes of Jealousy,

and envy.

Family condemned the son with jealousy,

and a brother betrays him with sweet words.
